Edmonds is set to host a vibrant celebration of art, music, and culture. The "Deelish!" exhibit at Graphite Arts Center showcases over 30 artworks celebrating food through diverse mediums. Meanwhile, the community enjoys musical performances, charity events, and exhibitions exploring themes like motherhood. These events not only entertain but also foster connections among residents and visitors alike.

This month, Edmonds offers a rich tapestry of experiences. Art enthusiasts can explore culinary-inspired creations, while music lovers enjoy live concerts featuring jazz bands and veteran choirs. Additionally, charity walks and thought-provoking exhibits such as "LIKE MOTHER" invite reflection on personal heritage and societal values, making this an unforgettable cultural journey.

Gourmet Artistry: A Feast for the Eyes

The "Deelish!" exhibition transforms the Graphite Arts Center into a visual feast. Showcasing works from 21 artists, it explores humanity's relationship with food across various artistic forms. From acrylics depicting fresh produce to oils capturing sandwiches' allure, each piece invites viewers to savor life’s simple pleasures differently.

This group show features more than 30 unique pieces that celebrate food culture. Artists use both two-dimensional and three-dimensional mediums to depict everything from sweet pastries to hearty soups. Central themes include fresh fruits and vegetables, yet crackers, baked goods, and sandwiches also find their place. Curator awards sponsored by Joyful Art Fund will be presented during the opening reception on May 3rd, enhancing the event's prestige. Visitors are encouraged to attend the Artists’ Reception held between 7-8:30 p.m., where they can meet creators and gain insights into their creative processes.

Reflections on Legacy: Stories Beyond Generations

"LIKE MOTHER," an exhibit at Lynnwood City Hall Gallery, delves deep into narratives surrounding motherhood. Curated by Kelly Lyles, it brings together 22 artists who channel emotions tied to maternal loss into compelling artwork. Each piece tells stories of mothers whose lives extended beyond traditional roles, inspiring introspection about one's own legacy.

This poignant collection reflects on how mothers shape family dynamics and individual identities. Through paintings, sculptures, and mixed media, artists honor women who were pilots, actresses, dancers, scientists, or world travelers alongside being homemakers. By showcasing these multifaceted portraits, the exhibit encourages audiences to ponder their own legacies. It challenges viewers to consider what tales people might tell about them in the future. Running until June 2nd, "LIKE MOTHER" provides a platform for meaningful dialogue about familial ties and personal growth, resonating deeply within contemporary society.
