This victory marks their 16th consecutive title, solidifying their legacy as one of the most dominant teams in high school sports history. Despite facing a formidable opponent in Granada Hills, the Dolphins showcased exceptional skill, sweeping key matches early on to secure a decisive 23-6.5 win.

A Golden Afternoon for Palisades

On a radiant autumn afternoon at Balboa Sports Center, the rivalry between Palisades and Granada Hills reached its zenith once more. For the tenth consecutive year, these two schools met in the finals, with Palisades maintaining their edge. The Dolphins took control right from the start, dominating all seven matches in the first rotation. Their top players, including Lorenzo Brunkow and Neel Joshi, delivered stellar performances, each winning multiple sets convincingly before being substituted to allow younger teammates experience. Meanwhile, Palisades' doubles teams also shone brightly, clinching crucial victories that sealed the match well before the Highlanders could score their first point.

Notably absent was Granada Hills' standout player Kristian Sharma, whose ineligibility significantly impacted his team's chances of an upset. Even so, Christian Camarillo provided a spirited effort, earning three singles wins despite losing earlier to Brunkow. Coach Bud Kling, whose storied career includes over 1,440 victories, celebrated yet another triumph but acknowledged the challenges ahead with seven starters graduating next year.

From the perspective of Granada Hills, Coach Troy Aiken graciously conceded defeat while praising Palisades' superior performance. Though they remain without a City boys' title, their consistent presence in the finals underscores their own excellence.
